Brackish Water Desalination Units

Ground or surface water with high salt content (up to 10.000-15.000 ppm) are called Saline water and are generally considered as brackish water. Water with lower salt content (up to 1.500 – 2.500 ppm) can be used as Potable or process water, however, it must be desalted (desalinated) by means of any desalinating process. Depending on the TDS of raw water RO is considered to be one of the most effective & economical system for such a job. There are many factors that affect the design and construction of a brackish water desalination plant e.g., TDS, water analysis, purity etc of the available brackish water and thus, each plant must be new designed and constructed accordingly. In this case the cost of the plant and the cost of the product water will be high consequently. One can find standard plants for such a problem at reasonable, affordable and accepted prices. However standard plants are generally to be considered as compromise settlement only.
